Growing Dreams: Our Association's Journey
About APPRAF
The Association of Small Rural Producers and Family Farmers — was founded in 2009 through a collective effort to strengthen local coffee farming. Its origins trace back to a pivotal group purchase of 75 coffee dryers from Pinhalense, which united producers and laid the foundation for the association.

Milestones and Growth
Under the leadership of President Valdinei da Silveira, APPRAF has achieved significant milestones:
2019: Received a fully equipped coffee cupping lab, enabling producers to evaluate and standardise quality, fostering unity and improvement.
2021: Partnered with André, a specialist who helped implement a scoring system for coffee. Through this, APPRAF discovered that 80% of Ibitiúra de Minas coffees had soft beverage profiles—a revelation that guided targeted quality upgrades. These efforts increased market value, allowing producers to command better prices for their harvests.

Mission and Values
APPRAF is built on the belief that every bean tells a story of dedication. Behind each cup are generations of family farms, sustainable practices, and a commitment to excellence. By combining tradition with innovation, the association empowers producers while ensuring consumers appreciate the craftsmanship behind their coffee.
